Program Information

  • Tentative Dates: Departure typically is one week after graduation in May with a return during the second week of June.
  • Location: Elda-Petrer, Spain
  • Courses: Earn six hours of BJU credit
    Spn 496 Studies Abroad: Spanish Culture
    Spn 497 Studies Abroad: Spanish Communication
  • Cost: $4500-4800, all-inclusive* (final pricing information is available in September each year through the Office of Studies Abroad at BJU).
  • Homestay: Students live with Spanish host families, typically with two students placed  with each family. 
  • Staff:
    • ​Dr. David Bell, program director, missionary church planter, and professor at the University of Alicante
    • Dr. Amos Kasperek, Associate Professor of World Languages & Cultures, BJU faculty sponsor
*The program fee covers all required expenses for the program including travel/medical insurance, training, all meals in Spain, airfare, in-country transportation, mandatory admission fees, and homestay (full room & board). The fee does not include personal expenses, souvenirs, snacks, recreational activities, etc. Students typically plan on bring $100-300 to cover these expenses.  Rates are subject to change based on group size or actual airfare cost.
